I just received a “confirmation” for the car I was selling in Craigslist. Well, I’m not selling a car in Craigslist and for a second it worked as it’s supposed to work. I got a little excited thinking someone had hijacked my Craigslist account.
There was a a link in the email in which I could log into my Craigslist account. It looked like a legit link. Now here’s a little trick:
Place your mouse over the link in your email DO NOT click it
Now look at the bottom of your computer screen. You’ll find a bar called a task bar.
Look to see what the real url (website address) is
In this case the true url had nothing to do with Craigslist, though you can be certain it would look realistic and get as much personal information from you as possible to “cancel” your craigslist post.
